Lee Elwell was officially welcomed to the Gallu Executive Steering Group.

LJ to check PO Box address expiry date.

 Gallu Exec steering group will change name to Gallu Executive which deals with the mechanics of Gallu and the day to day business looking at Budgets and staffing issues.

Officer from one of the TA’s – LJ to make the invitation at the meeting tomorrow and for them to decide who will attend as representative of all three.

WWHP is to change to the Gallu steering group which will meet every 6 months and looks at impact of the environment on Gallu and how this influences the future operational plans for the organisation.

Attendees should be:

GD to establish who and what can attend the new Gallu Steering Group from DCELLS and DE&T (Russell)

FE one representative of all FE institutions who will then disseminate to others may bring 1 – 2 students (this may be done on a rotational basis)

Representative College/University to give 5 minute presentation about the tourism activity within their training environment. (Too be alternated between FE and HE for the presentation)

A representative from each TA’s Board of Directors

A member of each TA operational team

The next meeting will be in September 23rd  at 10am and is to include lunch. LJ to organise it at the Stradey Park Hotel.   Lee Elwell to give a presentation on his role and business plan at the meeting.

WWHF aim - opportunity to engage with wider sector in terms of businesses themselves to give outline of what Gallu is doing in context with everything else going on in the region.  Link between education training providers and tourism industry itself and any public bodies who can be influenced and kept up to date.  In light of the VW regionalised roadshow there is obvious synergy and the WWHF should now become part of those roadshows but still branded as WWHF.

 Proposal for Gallu workshop forms to be completed by both Gallu Team Member and applicable TA area staff to sign off.  There is an opportunity to talk about this at the TSS group meeting 14.4.2010 LJ and GD GD aware the LJ and LE will discuss this with TSB this afternoon

JISC and HEFCW funding  LJ to re email Paula at St Brides (DONE) copying in relevant people to demonstrate how serious this is.  Chase the feedback/appraisal forms from the courses. DONE

What opportunities exist for synergy with the Gallu website

When does the SWWVSI project end and is this before the JISC project is complete.

CC in steering group when asking questions and email group re the answer to gain answer re letter of support for JISC project.  LJ done

 LJ to send KPI’s for last financial year to the steering group.  New KPI’s will be discussed with LE and GD following their meeting with VW on Monday LJ to arrange to meet with both LE and GD

 LJ to feedback to Phil Coates that we appreciate the heads up however, we do not have any budget which we are able to allocate to training but if there are other opportunities we are very happy to listen. DONE

LJ and LE to look efficiency measures they may make when operating Gallu i.e. Lift sharing, phone calls, etc.
