Gallu Steering Group Meeting Minutes

1. Apologies None, all present.
2. Minutes of last meeting were read clarification was sought with regard to W W Hospitality Panel/Forum/Steering Group.
CO confirmed the following:
Gallu Executive Group was to comprise of all in attendance namely, Chris Osborne, Diana James, Gary Davies and Lisa Johnston. A small group to steer the Gallu project. (To meet every 6 weeks)
West Wales Hospitality Operational Panel is to comprise of Elwa, WDA, RTP, TTFW, Gallu Team, EBP, the Chairperson from each of the 4 tourist associations and Chris Osborne. There will be opportunities for guests from other areas to speak and put their point forward should they wish to join the Operational Panel. (To meet twice annually, prior to the hospitality forum).
West Wales Hospitality Forum is open to all who wish to attend, they will convene twice annually, approx 1 month after the operational panel.
GD suggested that we set the diary dates out now for the rest of the year.
Please see attached sheet for dates.
GD expressed that each member of the West Wales Hospitality operational Panel should be emailed 2 weeks prior to the next meeting and a request should be made that they forward a paragraph or two about what they can bring to the table for the hospitality operational panel.
The Operational Panel is to meet next ½ an hour before the forum/launch in September for a brief update on the project and a refresher regarding West Wales Hospitality Operational Panel itself. The next official meeting for the Panel will be in the 2nd week of December, ready for the Forum meeting in February.
3. LJ reported that 29th September had been booked at the Botanical Gardens and that available dated are 22 September and 7 October it was agreed that the 22 September would be suitable.

The room is to be laid out board room style, for more informal feel.
LJ to confirm room availability and buffet costs, to be taken from Gallu budget.
LJ to liaise with Phil Drakeford EBP, Paula Abinato and Gary Davies for a quirky idea for the launch possibly including some student involvement.
GD will instruct PA regarding press coverage.
Providers of training and skills will be invited to exhibit their goods at the launch. HE and FE will be invited to send literature for distribution only.
4. LJ to chase Tony McGetrick at the Castle Hotel for a signed agreement with regards to Michelle Evans being based at the Castle Hotel, Neath.
Website will be completed by the end of August. The cost will be £2,200.00 to include hosting, training and the domain name. LJ to ask Mawr to check for domain name www.gallu.wales.com if available purchase otherwise gallu.org/info/net whatever is available.
