West Wales Hospitality Panel Steering Group Meeting Minutes

Action Points
- Spencer Conlan and Not Conner as spelled in last minutes.
- LJ to put Panel Members as agenda item at next meeting LJ
- It was suggested to ask observers to future meetings if specific issues arise and we need someone from an area. RT suggested asking members of the trade.
- DJ stated that the TTFW bid is ongoing, they have shown an expression of interest on both the Convergence and Competitive Fund. They are as far forward as they can be at the moment.
- DJ to send expression of interest to RT DJ
Aims and objectives of the Panel and Forum :-
Forum
In existence for over 15 years.
The Forum presents an opportunity for learning, training providers, public sector agencies and the tourism industry itself to showcase and consult with one another new initiatives.
Panel
The Panel is made up of a collection of support agencies namely, DELLS, DE&T, CWW, JCP, TTFW, VW (SWWTP) and the 3 local Tourist Associations for the region to inform and feedback the issues/ideas/constraints affecting the tourism industry.
It provides a pivotal role of support and assistance for the Gallu Steering Group and present ideas for each Forum to ensure the free exchange of information.
- LJ to send this out to members of the panel with a 48 hour deadline for approval/amendment as appropriate - LJ
- With the emergence of the Spacial plans LJ should contact Anne Robinson at PCC and Karleigh Corcoran at NPTCBC to see if there is a representative from each of the special plan area to attend the meetings in the future -LJ
Gallu Update:-
- LJ to evaluate performance of A day in the life of and influencers events at the next RnR meeting LJ
RT was asking why there was not a very good take up.
- LJ to arrange a meeting with all Chief Execs of the TAs to discuss the dissemination of Gallu courses etc LJ
- LE to evaluate the mystery Shopper, businesses are not taking part in further training. It was suggested to carry out a follow up visit to see if they had taken recommendations on board. It was suggested to discuss this at next Customer Care meeting. LE
West Wales Hospitality Forum:-
- Feedback from Previous Forum.
In general it was felt the event was a success although perhaps it would be beneficial in the future to ensure that each presenter is fully aware of their brief.
Agenda and venue agreed, LJ to discuss parking procedures with the LC and provide direction and info on paying procedure to attendees.
